Claims and Documents Processing

The Claims and Documents Processing Division includes Documents Processing, Data Entry, Claims Examiners, Process Improvement & Oversight, the Board’s Call Center/Claims Assistance Department and Superior Court Appeals Processing.

The Documents Processing Unit is responsible for all incoming and outgoing mail activities and processing of correspondence via doc prep through to scanning into the ICMS system. This unit also handles copying of files and coordinates the transfer, retention, and destruction of claim files within the agency.

The Data Entry Unit is responsible for the quality input of information submitted by case parties.

The Claims Examiners Unit is responsible for reviewing the claim file for timely payment of benefits, submission of corresponding Board files, and closure of claim files.

The Process Improvement & Oversight Unit assists with improving the day-to-day process for both internal and external users, including troubleshooting problems for WCONLINE users on ICMS, and assistance with any questions encountered during the submission process of filing online documents.

The Call Center provides superior claims assistance and utilizes all available resources to assist external callers with all other general questions and/or concerns.

Superior Court Appeals / Copies of Petitions for Review:  A party in a workers’ compensation claim may file a copy of the Superior Court/Copy of Petition for Review at the same time they file with Superior Court.  When a filing is received, a copy of the relevant claim file documents is prepared for transmittal to Superior Court within 30 days of receipt of the copy of the Petition for Review.
